突然の雪に見舞われた2月の下旬、当日は昨日まで自身で積もっていた雪も溶け、少し春を感じる風も吹き抜ける気持ち良き日に開催できた今回の”珈琲 ﾉ 席 於:うつしき”
重い扉を開けて薄暗い回廊を抜けると広がる空間。多くの景色が繰り広げられてきたその空間で自身が珈琲を通して「今」僕らが考えてること、気持ち、世界をどのように表現できるのか。パートナーである彼女と共に数ヶ月前から試行錯誤し準備してきました。
一時間の時間で提供させて頂いたのは、
「一杯の珈琲と一種の甘味」
遠くに流れる微かな音楽と横で開催されている福村龍太/陶展の熱気、外で遊ぶ子供たちの声、手挽きミルはゴリゴリとした音を奏でネルからは片口に滴り落ちるポタポタという音、それらの様々な音が調和し馴染んでまるでセッションしているかのように流れる特別な時間。
お客様が扉から出られるまで共に創る空間、時折僕らの想いとお客様の気持ちが重なり空間がまるで茶室のような張り詰めた中にも優しさのある静寂が訪れる時間もありました。
全八回の席の中で時にはうつしきの小野さんの可愛い子供達の登場もあり終始和やかに開催されたた珈琲 ﾉ 席。
『珈琲』その表現の幅をどこまで広げてどのような場所でどんな空間でいかにして伝えられるか。こらからも僕らがまずは愉しみながら探りながらやっていきたいと思います。こんな時をつくっていけるようにこれからも精進していきます。その道を温かく見守って頂ければ幸いです。

今回の珈琲 ﾉ 席は福村龍太さんのお猪口、器で提供させて頂きました。銀彩の中に浮かぶ漆黒の珈琲、金彩の器の中で彩られる甘味チョコレートのテリーヌその景色は格別なものとなりました。福村さんの手から生み出される形、作品はその存在感の力強さがあります。ただその強さは圧倒するのでは無く日常にそっと寄り添ってくれる優しさを持ち合わせています。
珈琲 ﾉ 席を開催するにあたり声をかけて頂き器など設えにご協力くださった陶芸家の福村龍太さん、うつしきの小野さんご家族、店長の小西さん撮影をしてくださった小田さんには感謝しかありません。本当に有り難うございました。
In late February, we were hit by a sudden snowstorm, but on the day of the event, the snow that had accumulated until yesterday melted, and we were able to hold the “Utsushiki Cafe” on a day with a pleasant breeze that felt a little like spring.
After opening the heavy door and passing through the dimly lit corridor, you will find yourself in an expansive space. I wondered how I could express what we are thinking, feeling, and the world through coffee in this space where so many scenes have unfolded. My partner and I have been preparing for this project for several months through trial and error.
n an hour’s time, we offered “a cup of coffee and a kind of sweet”.
The faint music in the distance, the excitement of Ryuta Fukumura’s ceramic exhibition beside me, the voices of children playing outside, the gurgling sound of the hand-grinding mill, the dripping sound of the flannel dripping into one mouth, and all these various sounds harmonize and blend together to create a special time that feels like a session.
There were times when our thoughts and the feelings of the customers overlapped, and the space became like a teahouse, with a tense yet gentle silence.
During the eight sessions, the cafe was held in a relaxed atmosphere, with the appearance of Utsushiki Ono’s cute children at times.
How far can we expand the range of expression of “coffee” and how can we convey it in what kind of place and in what kind of space? From now on, we will continue to have fun while exploring. We will continue to devote ourselves to creating such moments. I would be grateful if you would warmly watch over us on our way.

This time, the coffee was served in Ryuta Fukumura’s cups and bowls. The jet-black coffee floating in the silverware and the sweet chocolate terrine in the goldware made for an exceptional view. The shapes and works created by Ms. Fukumura’s hands have a powerful presence. However, this strength is not overwhelming, but has a gentleness that gently accompanies us in our daily lives.
I can’t thank enough Ryuta Fukumura, the potter, Mr. Ono and his family from Utsushiki, Mr. Konishi, the store manager, and Mr. Oda for taking pictures. Thank you very much.
